Mission Statement
MAWCJ was formed in 1976 to address issues of women offenders. Since then, the organization has evolved to include support and encouragement of the professional development of women involved in criminal justice and its related fields.

This mission is accomplished by providing forums focused on promoting cross-disciplinary communication and networking, while educating the membership and the public about current trends, issues, and developments in the criminal justice field.
