The Minnesota Association of Women in Criminal Justice (MAWCJ) was established in 1976.  MAWCJ is governed by a board of directors elected to three-term years.  Board members serve without compensation.  We are a non-profit organization committed to women’s issues in the criminal justice field.

The Minnesota Association of Women in Criminal Justice was established to:

  1. SUPPORT the entry, professional development and advancement of women in criminal justice.
  2. ENCOURAGE cross-disciplinary communication of issues affecting women as criminal Justice professionals.
  3. EDUCATE the membership and the public about the specialized needs of adult female offenders.
  4. CREATE a forum for networking and socializing.
